My first Fuji was…
A 2019 54 cm, C15 carbon, Black and Red, Fuji SL 1.1, I LOVED the color scheme of this bike. It so matched my kit!
What kind of impact did cycling have on your life?
Every morning I wake up and do my daily exercises at 5AM. All my exercise routines last for about forty-
five minutes. I shower, dress in my cycling gear hop on my Fuji 1.1 and make the thirty minute commute
to work in time for my seven a.m. work start. I love my commute, and my Fuji makes the ride on the hills
as well as the flats just more exhilarating. At the end of the work day, I change into my cycling gear and
ride back home. On Thursday nights after work, I meet up with my teammates and we do about tw
enty
miles of loops in the Fairmount park area of Philadelphia. We call this the Diamond criterium. It’s pretty
intense and strenuous, but it feels good after you are done.
On Saturdays and Sundays, I ride from my house to the Art Museum downtown and meet
with my team
an at least ten other teams and a bunch of independent riders who race and generally enjoy riding
bicycles. At the start of the ride, usually there is a lot of socializing for about the first ten miles or so,
then someone decides to pick up t
he pace and the race is on to get back home. The ride on Saturday
usually goes out towards Ambler, PA and back and the ride on Sunday goes to Paoli, PA or Valley Forge
and back. All rides are about forty
-
five miles, and take about two hours and twenty minu
tes to complete.
There is something about riding a bicycle. Everything seems to slow down. Things that you would
normally miss in a car, you can see form the saddle of a bike. To me it’s calming. It’s my sanctuary.
I recently moved from Philadelphia, PA to
Alexandria VA and I'm now exploring the multitiude of
bikepaths in the DC/MD/VA area.
