My first Fuji was…
a present to myself for getting my first job out of college. One of my good friends owns a bike shop that sells Fujis, and the perfect frame showed up, a Roubaix RC. We spent weeks sourcing components and building it, and it was my race bike for years unti l I updated to an SL Disc.
What kind of impact did cycling have on your life?
I started cycling when I was 13, after watching the Tour de France religiously during the summer. I road
biked for years and enjoyed the freedom of exploring the area. Cycling
took a backseat during college,
but then I stumbled across a Fuji dealer who treated me like family at Beverly Bikes, and I started cycling
like mad once again.
Nowadays I ride mostly off
-
road, exploring the rocky singletracks on my Auric, or training and
racing
cyclocross on my Altamira 1.1. Cycling got me out of a lot of tough times in the past few years, and even
though my riding time varies, I know my Fujis are always there for me, including the 1984 Team Fuji I
rebuilt and restored.
