The Italian rider from FUJI-SERVETTO struggled against the fastest riders in the final sprint that decided the 6th stage of the Tour de Langkawi’s, where Gavazzi (Diquigiovanni)proved himself to be the best for the fourth time in this race. The GC remains unchanged with one stage left

Davide Vigano achieved fourth place in today’s final bunch sprint at the sixth stage of the Tour of Langkawi, over a 147-km route from Batang Kali to Shah Alam. The sprinter from FUJI-SERVETTO reached another respectable position on the pack after the Kessiakoff  obtained 4th in yesterday’s stage, and the earlier performances by Australia’s Hilton Clarke, 5th and 7th placed in two other mass arrivals.

Vigano came across the line behind Sutton (Garmin), Clerc (Ag2r) and Mattia Gavazzi (Diquigiovanni), as the Italian sprinter snatched his fourth stage win in this year’s Malaysian course. Today’s route was marked by an early attempt by nine riders in the 50th kilometer, FUJI-SERVETTO’s Hilton Clarke among them, before being chased down by the peloton until their adventure finished at the 10-km mark.

The General Classification did not change, as Venezuelan José Serpa (Diquigiovanni) remains in the yellow jersey, while Kessiakoff (FUJI-SERVETTO) secures his 4th position overall, with a safe, insignificant circuit race tomorrow in the seventh, last stage of the race on the streets of Kuala Lumpur, where the riders will complete 12 laps to do an expected 80-km ride.

Riders are ready for the Vuelta a Andalucía
On the other side of the world, a second FUJI-SERVETTO team is set to participate in the 55th edition of the Vuelta a Andalucia-Ruta Ciclista del Sol, starting tomorrow, Feb 15, and ending Feb. 19, with a 7.3-km prologue on the streets of Jaen where they will give the first jerseys. The Boys in Blue have brought a 7-man squad: Eros Capecchi, Benat Intxausti, Alberto Benitez, Jesus del Nero, Ricardo Serrano, David de la Fuente and Josep Jufre, with Joxean Fernandez Matxin and Sabino Angoitia as team directors.
